Love and Physics

“Some people say that love doesn’t make sense, that it defies the laws of physics, and maybe in some ways it does, but some are finding that in some ways it does exactly as what physicists might expect. For initially, one wouldn’t wish to return hate with love but rather hate with hate, yet in reality that should not be the case (according to physics…). Look at it this way - they say for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction, so although hate is as strong as (equal to) hate, it only fuels more hate. This is where inertia is seen, causing the object in motion (an act of hatred) to remain in motion (fueling and instigating more hatred). But love is equal in magnitude to (as strong as) hate, yet is opposite in direction. So, by virtue of Newton’s First Law of Motion, this act of love versus the act of hatred would at least put the initial object (act of hatred) at rest, until of course another force acts upon it. Therefore, if love continues to act as a force upon this act of hatred after its being at rest, it should return to being an object in motion, yet THIS TIME, because of the law of conservation of energy (and momentum and mass and EVERYTHING…get the gist?), the object at motion is no longer an act of hatred but an act of love, for it has conserved EVERYTHING that the force of love gave it. Furthermore, this object in motion is open to any and all other forces. So, if the force of love is strong enough, continues to act upon it, and fueled by other sources (forces) of love, this act of love can overcome and transform other acts of hatred into acts of love. So, Martin Luther King, Jr. had a point when he recited that only love can drive out hatred and light can drive out darkness. In retrospect, love does not only fall into the Laws of Physics, it’s indubitably formulated into the Laws of Life.”

When She Dances

**(part of a 3-part poem series)

Some people ask her

Where she goes

When she dances

She tells them

“To a better place”

And they wonder

What that place consists of

“It’s like no world

You can really imagine.

There are no pictures,

There are no words,

There are only movements

And sensations

You can neither see nor hear

You just feel”

Those sensations

Those movements

Embedded her into another human being

She was another girl

Another lady

Another woman

When she danced

The dance FOR her life

And the dance OF her life

And she was only happy

Only content

Only joyful

Only when she danced

For this was where

She allowed the earth

To have its way with her

To let gravity take a hold of her

Only to suddenly fight an indiscernible demon

She’d been struggling with

Secretly the entirety of her life

No matter how open about herself

She normally seemed

Yet in her dance, you sensed the struggle

And you felt the openness of the demon

And you realized the escape

Finally

The freedom of winning against her demon

At least one more time

And the world recognized the beauty

Of her strength and her courage

Her magnificent faith

In the succumbing to gravity

Trusting that there would be something

Or maybe someone

There to catch her fall

Trusting the magnificent design of her body

Crafted and sculpted like none other

Mended and molded to a simple and quiet perfection

Preened and cleaned, CLEANSED, of life’s social impurities

Shed through the blood, sweat, and tears

Of a dance that preceded years and decades

And centuries before her own

Shed through the tears, the blood, and the sweat

Of her aggravated magnificent design of a shadow

But when she dances…

You dare to believe in this seemingly newfound

Faith

You dare to discover the source of the weakness in her

Strength

You dare to rejoice in the presence of the heart in her

Love

You dare to suspect that this radiance stems from a connection

Above

You DARE to recite all the utterly detestable and nauseating but truth-filled

Clichés

And you DARE to begin to understand for what it is her body

Behaves

You dare to understand the wisdom her body spews from century-old

Proverbs

You dare to reach out for the words of existential knowledge that was never

Hers

You dare to preach to yourself a truth that you never thought you’d

Believe

You dare to rest in the solace of your history within which lies nothing but

Grief

But more importantly, in your heart, in your soul, and in your mind

You dare to dance with her

Mourn with her

Struggle with her

Breathe, sigh, and lie with her

In the innocence of finding serenity

And not fail to remember

That when she dances

She cannot see you

She cannot hear you

She cannot really

Be near you

Therefore, simply allow her

To feel you

Though please,

Tenderly remember,

Not only

When she dances

What God Wants You to do Today.
1. Be Thankful. Give thanks for Today and for all you have. God’s Will for our life includes a constant spirit of gratitude regardless of our circumstances. When we choose to give thanks, even if our circumstances don’t improve, our perspective certainly will.
“This is the day the LORD has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it.” Psalm 118:24
“Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” 1 Thessalonians 5:16-28 2. Don’t Worry. Refuse to let fear rob you of your peace. God is bigger than whatever you’re stressed about! Give your worries over to Him.
“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done.” Philippians 4:6 3. Seek God. He wants a relationship with you. He wants you to pursue His Kingdom because you will eternally be part of it.
“You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29:13
“Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.” Matthew 6:33
4. Help Others. We live in a selfish world, but selfishness isn’t part of God’s plan for any of our lives. He wants us to care for others every chance we get.
“Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you.” James 1:27
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” 1 Peter 4:10 5. Trust God. Every difficult circumstance in your life is something God will use for your good and His glory. He has great blessings in store for you. Trust Him and don’t give up!
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who[i] have been called according to his purpose.” Romans 8:28

“And will not God bring about justice for His chosen ones, who cry out to Him day and night?” (Luke 18:7, NIV)
Have you been crying out to the Lord for something? Maybe there’s a situation in your life that’s been overwhelming, and you feel like you’ve done everything you know to do and can’t see a way through. Be encouraged today because we serve a God of justice! He is faithful to His Word, and He will always be faithful to you.
Not only is He a God of justice, He is your vindicator. One thing we have to remember is that our battle is not with the person who may have wronged us. Scripture says that the enemy of our souls, the accuser of the brethren is our ultimate enemy. Know today that God already has a plan; He already knows the future, and He will bring about justice! Before eternity is through, He will right the wrongs that have been done to you.
Your part is to release the situation into His capable hands. You don’t have to straighten everybody out or right the wrongs in your life, that’s God’s job. Trust Him with your future because the God of justice is working things out on your behalf!A PRAYER FOR TODAYFather God, today I release every care, every concern, every situation that is beyond my control. Make Believe

Don’t believe everything that you read

Just because it’s by George Herbert Mead

And don’t trust everything that you feel

Just because you sense it to be absolutely real

Rather take everything as it is,

Or as you immediately perceive it,

And sit on it

Let it stew inside of you

And allow yourself to embody the richness

Of this everyday

Experience

Or moment out of the blue

Life is not a cliché

Just because there are statistics

That say

One in every two marriages

End in divorce

And that love hurts

But rather believe,

Or at least realize,

It’s not love that hurts,

It’s the loved ones that do

It’s that human beings

Are flawed, imperfect, broken

Manifestations of lust, gluttony,

Anger, slothfulness, and greed

And no this isn’t the theory

Of Mr. George Herbert Mead

This is reality

This is the tell-tale story

Of the human’s life

Of his or hers undulations

Through the preoccupations

Of the complications

And the misinterpretations

Of the monopolization

Of simple human thought

We are raised to believe that we have agency

That our final decisions are ultimately

Our own proper and final decisions

But there are forces around us

Against or with us

That lead you any which way

And if he or she is not careful

Could end up slayed

By the misconstrued idea

That one cannot go without living life

As if it were a play

Aka 24/7 drama day

We were made to believe

We were made to trust

We were made to love

We were even made to hold hands,

And cuddle, and all of that stuff

But it seems like society is telling us

That isn’t enough

And indeed it isn’t

There’s more to us than that

But then they transform

Believing into deceiving

Trust into lust

Love into a shove

Holding hands into kicking sand

And cuddling into smuggling

And all of this juggling

Of what we were made to believe

And what we actually are…

We need to believe in who we are

But greater yet

We need to believe in who made us

Who we are

Who sees us as the very twinkle in His eyes

Despite the very notion that we are

“Flawed, imperfect, broken

Manifestations of lust, gluttony,

Anger, slothfulness, and greed”

The One who has every reason to despise us

And bring us to our demise and must

Cringe at the sight of some of us

Busting each other’s faces in

And breaking in to the Holiday Inn

Even forgetting to empty the recycling bin

And honestly if it were up to us, this right here

Would surely be the end

But thank the Lord, through Him, it is only the beginnin’

Moth Lights

Welcome to the Land of Moths

It’s a land of darkness

A land of endless silence

Where the only light that shines

Is from two moths

In each other’s presence

When they are in love

All they do,

All they EVER do,

Is dance and skirt around each other

All they do,

Is swivel and swerve

And the only contact is an occasional

Clash or collision

When one is brave enough to head aimlessly

Into the light of the other

But because they don’t have the eyes to see

And they don’t have the mouths to communicate

Nor would they have the words to speak

The dance continues

Together

All the moths surrounding them

Can see how they shine

In the presence of each other

And they see their difficulty

To understand

That they cannot outshine the other

Confusing each other for fireflies

They let the fire within them burn too bright

And they forget that they are moths

They are ordinary little creatures

Shining light is not what they normally do

Why not realize then that something is wrong

Why not stray away from each other

Why not find another light, a little less bright,

But moths are stubborn

No matter how many times they slam into that light

They don’t stop

All they want is the light

That’s all we,

As God’s little moths,

Want to live for

To move toward a bright light

And there’s nothing wrong with that

But when life becomes solely chasing after

Some other moth’s light

Then we can never realize the light

That we shine

The light that we ourselves reflect

And the one light we are to solely pursue

And so if they only realized

That instead of dancing around each other

Instead of butting heads every once in a while

If they flew slowly, side by side,

Shining together

They would leave the land of the moths

They would break out of the land of silence

And into a brighter country

And a louder land

And into a light they can blend into

And then they would see that they are moths

Surrounded in magnificent splendor
